The Charity Commission has thrown the spotlight onto trustees and yet new stories appear almost weekly of massive fraud, theft and general mismanagement of charities. It begs a number of questions:
Where are the trustees?
How are they allowing this to happen?
Do they understand their role and responsibilities?
Do they worry about looking silly if they ask questions or do they lack confidence to challenge when they suspect wrongdoing?
There are forums for CEOs and for Board Chairs but what about support for trustees?
Kate Gordon and Rickie Josen are co-hosting a free session for fellow trustees.
These questions and more will be looked at, and a variety of peer support mechanisms explored.
Kate and Rickie are both experienced trainers/action learning facilitators /mentors and – crucially - both are charity trustees with a voluntary sector background.
The session is free and aimed at trustees only. Up to 2 people from each organisation are welcome to RSVP here
